Athlete Style Holiday Gift Guide

Still not quite finished your holiday shopping? Or maybe you haven't started yet (like me!)?  Here is some shopping inspiration from Athlete Style.  Please check out my pinterest board for bonus items and items I add as I shop:  http://www.pinterest.com/laurelwassner/athlete-style-holiday-gift-guide/

Nike Sky Hi London ($225) - The Sky Hi has been my walking around town shoe of choice for awhile, and now it has an edge!  A classic punk plaid fit for the shelves of Commander Salamander.  Look as bad ass as you feel after spin class!

Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Serum ($93) - Being an athlete is very hard on the skin.  Between the chlorine and the sun it just sometimes feels like a hopeless mess.  I decided I needed a better skin care routine and started researching and trying all sorts of serums, thankfully my local Space NK has given me lots of samples!  Out of everything I tried, I came back to my first choice from Bobbi Brown.  Combined with the Extra Repair Moisturizing Balm it makes me look like I've had a facial even after 2 hours in the pool.

Cervelo S2 ($2,850) - If you follow my tweets, you already know that I'm obsessed with my Cervelo S5 road bike.  But if you are not a sponsored triathlete, it might not be in your budget to spend $10,000 on a bike.  That is why I love the S2- its new redesign has many of the features of my bike but is way more affordable.  It makes a great bike for a new rider and as there will be incentive to ride and someday get an S5!  Plus, I love the black and blue paint job.

Nike Rose Gold Fuel Band ($169) - The Fuel Band has now gotten even cooler.  Keep track of your exercise all day AND have it match your jewelry.  If that's not Athlete Style, then what is?

Netflix subscription ($7.99/month) - In my opinion, an essential piece of triathlon training gear.  How else to pass the hours on the trainer?  Binge watching shows like Orange is the New Black and House of Cards (available only on Netflix) will make the the time fly by.

Rudy Project Nebula Frozen Ash sunglasses ($124.99) - Rudy Project recently came out with a few new styles of casual sunglasses including the Nebula.  I love the translucent grey frame and smokey lenses - very similar to some I saw at Oliver Peoples for three times the price.

Cartier Paris Nouvelle Vague Necklace ($4800) - Any guys out there looking for elegant jewelry for their superfan wives or girlfriends?  Here's my pick.  This beautiful necklace from Cartier's new collection would definitely go in the splurge/dream category.  However, if it's not in your budget, let it serve as inspiration.  Plus, your superfans might just forget about that extra Saturday training ride...

Nike Pom Pon Knit Hat ($25) - A cute and stylish addition to the bundling up to go to the pool outfit.  I found these on the Nike Athlete site and scooped up a few before they were gone.  They are still available at Dick's Sporting Goods and also I saw a whole range of colors at my local running shop.  Guys, if you think the pom pon is too girly, simply cut it off.

Downtown Cookie Company Confections ($16) - I was very excited to find out that our friend Dan's Downtown Cookie Company is now making fudge, caramels and especially chocolate covered espresso beans in addition to their amazing cookies.  Another indulgence, chocolate covered cookie dough.  They count as athelte food because they are made by a swimmer, right?

Don't forget to check the Pinterest board for other ideas...had to narrow down to 9 to fit the design.  Good luck shopping!
