Post-Workout Pasta

Aside from the eating at midnight element, this New York Times articlenails the feeling athlete's have after a long hard day of workouts. After my next calorie depleting day, instead of stopping at Benny's for a slice (my east coast version of dropping into In-N-Out Burger), I'm going to head right home and whip up a quick and satisfying bowl of pasta. The plan is: run in the house, put a pot of water on the stove, take a shower, and by the time I've changed out of my sweaty clothes, the water will be boiling. Then, I'll throw in the pasta and 10 (or 5 if you use fresh pasta) minutes later, I'll be sitting down to a healthy meal.

This article recommends an anchovy & caper pasta - a combination which I happen to love and actually made at least once a week during training camp last year in Tucson. Lots of people are probably cringing at the thought, so how about this combination: sauteed shrimp, shallots & green beans, mixed with a spoonful of pesto and topped with grated pecorino. Spinach or asparagus would also work and as for the pesto, keep it simple with a good store-bought variety.

Anyone have any other good ideas for quick post workout pasta?
