Last Sunday night I was craving a real dessert, the kind from a restaurant. But I was in no shape to venture out after the day I had - a hard swim, a 4 hour bike ride in the rain, and 5 wet dog walks. Putting on regular clothes and changing out of my favorite soft pants to go back out in the rain: not an option. By the way, it does rain in LA, as I found out an hour into the bike ride.

Pre-Race
That feeling of crossing the finish line of a race feeling strong is something that has escaped me the last several races I've done. In the 6 races I competed in last year (although they were meant to be "for fun"), I buried myself completely before I even made it through the first quarter of the run.
I’ve been binge watching TV shows all winter – it’s how I survive day after day of indoor bike trainer workouts. It’s all great until you finish a series. Then what?
