Shoe4Africa 5k

Results

Laurel continued to tear up the local running scene by winning the Shoe4Africa 5k in Riverside Park yesterday.  Not only did she win, but she ran a personal record of 17:39.  For those of you who don't know running times, that's fast...especially for someone who was a Division-I college swimmer and a cancer survivor.  Check Laurel out in the photo below, wearing her Nike Livestrong colors and racing the boys.  This was the first race for the Shoe4Africa (shoe4africa.org) organization, so it was for a good cause AND it took place on the final mile of the Ironman NYC run course.  Fast running will win that race too!
