Crispy, tart, juicy, and convenient, apples are a constant presence in my swim bag. I bite into one as soon as I’m dressed, to ward off hunger until I can eat a more substantial snack.
Ideally I'd reach for a locally-grown Northern Spy or Crispin from the apple orchards around New Paltz. But until apple season kicks off in mid-August, I’m settling for a sweet Fuji. Also, they were on sale at the Tribeca Whole Foods this week, so I stocked up.
