Oats of the Week: Apples, Cinnamon, Hemp Seeds

The Mix: Gala apples, raisins, hemp seeds, ground flax, cinnamon sticks

The Story: The mornings around here have turned chilly (42 degrees out right now as I’m about to go for a bike ride), so we’re brining back our favorite recurring post, Oats of the Week. This week's combination is a classic and the way we most frequently make our oats.

The Workout: Two weeks until Ironman! Today’s workout is a four hour ride and a 70 minute run. Crazy, I know. But that’s what it takes…

The Instructions: Make steel cut oats according to the instructions on the package. When mixture starts to thicken, add two chopped apples, ¼ cup of raisins, 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds, 1 tablespoon of ground flax, a cinnamon stick and a big pinch of sea salt. Remove cinnamon stick before serving. --Bec
