We came up with this combination with our Turkey Trot Brunch in mind, but it would make a good pre-workout snack any time of year. Think of it as Athlete Food twist on the classic cinnamon toast.
What You Need:
- Raisin Bread: if possible pick up a bakery loaf. We're big fans of Amy's Bread.
- Coconut Oil
- An Apple: a crisp variety, sliced
- Cinnamon and Nutmeg: freshly grated if possible
Toast slices of bread. Spread coconut oil on bread. Use as much coconut oil as you would if you were using butter. Next drizzle honey, then top with apple slices. Finish by grating nutmeg and cinnamon sticks directly over the toasts.
