Finding A Balance: Hard Work, Splurges, and Healthy Meals

Looking back at our week, Laurel and I realized that surviving a week of Ironman triathlon training requires finding the right balance. That means healthy salad dinners balanced out by well earned splurges. Easy sightseeing bike rides one day and hard hill climbs the next. On easy days we have energy to make home-cooked meals, but there are nights when dialing the phone to order take-out Thai seems exhausting. The key is having confidence that the extremes, and everything in between, have a place, and it will all come together in the end.

Here's a look at some of those extremes from our training and eating from this week.
