Fueling for workouts can be very tricky. Even after doing this like it's our job (well, because it's our job) for the last 10 years or so, we're still searching for the magical answer. But one thing we do know is that we like to eat real food. Food that tastes good, makes us feel good, and contains the nutrients our bodies need to work so hard.
When we have a big day of training ahead, not only do we plan out our split times and goal wattages, but we also pencil in the food we're going to eat to get us through the day AND when we're going to eat it. An ideal morning workout (say a bike/run interval session) would look something like this:
And by the way, when we're starving after workouts, our salads don't get perfectly arranged like this!
